Plot:

This film views the mob lives of three pivotal figures in the 1960's and 70's New York. Henry Hill is a local boy turned gangster in a neighborhood full of the roughest and toughest. Tommy Devito is a pure bred gangster, who turns out to be Henry's best friend. Jimmy Conway puts the two of them together, and runs some of the biggest hijacks and burglaries the town has ever seen. After an extended jail sentence, Henry must sneak around the back of the local mob boss, Paulie Cicero, to live the life of luxury he has always dreamed of. In the end, the friends end up in a hell of a jam, and must do anything they can to save each other, and stay alive.

Word of Mouth:

This film was based on New York crime reporter Nicholas Pileggi's book Wiseguy. Becasue of this, people who had read the book already had an interest in the story, so would be talking about this film before it was released. Also, having well established actors such as Robert De Niro in the film hopefully would influence peopels' decision to go and watch it.

TV / Press:

The film received very positive reviews from critics and currently has a 96% rating at Rotten Tomatoes and a 89 metascore at Metacritic.

"Every crisp minute of this long, teeming movie vibrates with outlaw energy" - This was just one of the reviews which indicates to the audience that this is a great flm to watch.

Poster:

The poster shows that there are 3 main characters to the story, although it doesnt show them doing anything, which gives out a sense of mystery that the viewer must uncover. However at the bottom of the poster, there appears to be a dead person laying on the floor, although there is no indication as to what happened to them.
